Hi, I'm Hannah.
I'm an artist, dreamer, and a believer that the world gets better when we take time to look a little closer. I’m shaped by my Jewish heritage and by the joyful chaos of being a mom, and at my core, I’m someone who sees art as one of the most powerful tools we have for kindness, justice, and repair. The name Palindrome Art is inspired by the letters that spell 'Hannah' the same way, regardless of how you look at it. Art can heal ruptures and look forward, even as we celebrate the past. So, let’s build a world that reads beautifully – forward and backward – together.
It's About Connection
No matter what brought you here, my goal remains the same: to use colors, puns and word play, and concepts of social justice to catch your eye and awaken your imagination. Jump into my world of bold color and vivid storytelling, and connect with yourself and the world around you.
Have you ever noticed that even the most beautiful flowers are imperfect, with rough edges or missing petals? To me, that’s what makes them beautiful. The mix of beauty and imperfection that makes our relationships real is a main focus in my art. Each greeting card I make is a small act of relationship-building — a missive of care and a reminder that connection still matters.
Beauty, Even in Dark Times
There’s a Jewish concept called Hiddur Mitzvah, an idea about taking the time and effort to create or acquire beautiful objects, and viewing that beauty as a thing of holiness. I like to think that applies not just to ritual objects, but to the ways we show up for each other. These acts bring us comfort and pride, even when the world seems bleak. They make difficult concepts easier to take in, accept, and even hold.
Living Authentically
We know injustice will always exist. But it’s our duty to tackle it as best we can. We live in two worlds: the world as it is, and the world as we think it should be. We can all help bring the world a little closer to the way it should be. Art is how we make sense and meaning of it all – and sharing art is how we start to heal the world.
At Palindrome Art, words and illustrations weave beauty and meaning into everyday life. Here, whimsy, puns, and joyand and joy live alongside a deep commitment to justice. I believe art can illuminate even our darkest moments — and I invite you to celebrate even the small victories through meaningful, soul-stirring art.
My Story
Age 8
When I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be an artist. But my mom told me that you can't make money as an artist unless you work as an architect. I took a kid's architecture class at RISD and it turns out I hate math! So I gave up on my dream of becoming a professional artist. Until...
Age 39
I spent over 10 years working for non-profits. Eventually, one of my hobbies (calligraphy) turned into a bit of a side hustle. But people started asking me to do things I didn't know how to do, like make logos! I went back to school for graphic design, and then realized that what I really wanted to do was illustration. Since then, I've been so lucky to make this a full-time job!
