Right to My Heart
When I was a kid, my Mema (my mom's mom) had a very special way of saying goodbye. She'd always ask us to blow her a kiss. Then she would pretend to catch the kiss, and bring her hand over her heart. "Right to my heart," she'd always say.
Straight From the Heart
I'm so inspired by my Mema's penchant for living authentically. She meant what she said and she said what she meant. And that's how I try to live, and the art I try to make. No forced positivity. Just honest, authentic work, that's sometimes a little silly.

Age 8
When I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be an artist. But my mom told me that you can't make money as an artist unless you work as an architect. I took a kid's architecture class at RISD and it turns out I hate math! So I gave up on my dream of becoming a professional artist. Until...
Age 39
I spent over 10 years working for non-profits. Eventually, one of my hobbies (calligraphy) turned into a bit of a side hustle. But people started asking me to do things I didn't know how to do, like make logos! I went back to school for graphic design, and then realized that what I really wanted to do was illustration. Since then, I've been so lucky to make this a full-time job!
