Louie Awards Finalist 2026
Guess what? I'm a Louie Awards Finalist again! Last year, my Hanukkah card was a finalist. This year, another Hanukkah card has been selected as a Louie Awards Finalist in the Religious Celebrations under $5.50 category!
Last year, my card was about finding light during times of darkness, and I think that really resonated with a lot of people. This year, my card comes with a little levity. We ALL need a laugh now and then, don't you think?
Louie Awards Finalist
What are the Louie Awards, anyways? Every year, the Greeting Card Association hold the Louie Awards, an annual competition that honors the top greeting cards in the industry. The Louie Awards honor greeting cards, invitations, and announcements marketed in the U.S. during the previous calendar year. The Louies are named after Louis Prang, the lithographer known for effectively creating the greeting card industry in the US.
Makers submit their cards with identifying details covered up, so that judges can't confirm who created what card. The finalists are the top three cards in each category with the highest judging scores. 53 categories include two different pricing tiers and tons of different categories, including birthday, congratulations, and different holidays. Retailers often shop the list of Louie Awards Finalists (hi there, if that's you! I'd love to work together...), so it's really exciting to be nominated.
With so many incredible makers and card companies out there, it's such an honor to be recognized as a Louie Awards Finalist!
The Great Latke Debate
For the past three years, I've cohosted the 8 Nights Drawing Challenge with other Jewish artists on Instagram. I swear, so many of my best designs come from drawing challenges. It's become one of my best selling cards!
You know that stereotype, "two Jews, three opinions?" It's a stereotype for a reason, and we like to poke fun at ourselves and our many opinions. We love to set up these silly little debates, mostly for the express purpose of pronouncing Very Important Opinions.
It's the classic, age-old question: do you top your latkes with sour cream or apple sauce? Or even something else? One of my friends loves to put salsa on her latkes.
Personally, I'm a both kinda gal. I love the tart sweetness that the applesauce adds AND the creamy tang of sour cream. So hard to go wrong.
I think this mini inside joke is what makes this card so appealing. It's one of those things that has absolutely no consequences and is not important at all, but Jewish people can totally relate to. I think that's why it's a best-selling card, and probably why the judges named it a Louie Awards Finalist.
Thank You!
Last year, I was shocked and totally blown away to be nominated. And this year -- I can't believe I'm a Louie Awards finalist again! I'm so grateful to my customers for making this a best selling card. You like it, you really like it!
Such an honor, and I'm so proud of this feather in my cap. Especially because I'm in such good company of other Louie Awards finalists!
Thank you so much to the GCA staff, judges, and volunteers for all the work they do to make this possible.
